Projected bracket for the first 12-team playoff

play

It’s that time of year again when the air is filled with hope from college football fans, wondering if their favorite team can earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. This year there are even more than normal. With the expanded format comes a large number of new schools and fan bases eager to know where they stand in the eyes of the selection committee.

Well, that’s exactly what we learned. Oregon, Georgia, Miami and BYU received top four seeds and projected byes in the first round. While bubble teams like Alabama, Tennessee and Indiana all received expected playoff bids.

Of course, this is all hypothetical. There is still a lot of time for teams to make a name for themselves or fall apart completely. Who knows? By the end of the season, perhaps some of the lower-ranked teams, such as undefeated Army or highly underrated Ole Miss, could crack the top-12.

Here are the first official 2024 CFP rankings.
