Tony Todd, actor from ‘Candyman’ and ‘Final Destination’, has died at the age of 69

Tony Todd, the prolific actor who brought a malevolent presence to horror movie franchises Candyman And Final destinationdied at the age of 69.

Todd’s rep confirmed the actor’s death Varietyadding that he died Wednesday at his home in Marina Del Rey, California. No cause of death was given.

Over a career that spanned five decades, Todd amassed hundreds of film and voice acting credits, starting with a role in the 1986 Vietnam War classic. Platoon. Thanks to Bernard Rose we have truly created a gothic romance. That’s why the film lives on. A gentle soul with a deep knowledge of the arts. He enjoyed the fans and was never shy when it came to approaching fans wanting photos. A rare actor who opened himself up to public attention.”

As his horror film bona fides were established, Todd was also cast as mortician William Bludworth in the film Final destination franchise, appearing in three of those films, including the 2000 one Final destination and 2003 Final destination 2; posthumously, Todd will reprise the character in a reboot of the franchise scheduled for 2025.
