Ole Miss running back Henry Parrish Jr. expected to miss the rest of the season

Ole ma’am run back Henry Parrish Jr. is expected to miss the remainder of the season, multiple sources told On3. The transfer from Miami injured his left leg against Arkansas and was ruled out for Saturday’s game at Georgia.

In his final year of eligibility, Parrish emerged as Ole Miss’ leading rusher, posting 678 yards on 130 carries with 10 touchdowns. The senior averaged 5.2 yards per carry in nine games. He ranks sixth in the SEC in rushing in 2024.

Parrish began his college career at Ole Miss, rushing for 816 yards and five touchdowns in 2020 and 2021. He found success in the transfer to Miami, rushing for more than 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns before returning to Ole last offseason Miss.

‘Yes, he’s gone. That’s all I have,” Kiffin said Sunday night when asked about Parrish. Kiffin provided no further details Monday.

Without Parrish for the remaining three games of the season, Ole Miss will have to lean on Ulysses Bentley IV, Matt Jones And Domonique Thomas in the coming weeks. Thomas rushed for 41 yards on 10 carries against Arkansas. He has posted 131 yards and a touchdown this season.

Jones has gained 22 yards with three touchdowns, while Bentley has 185 yards and a score. Former Notre Dame and LSU running back Logan Diggs is still recovering from an ACL injury but could return later this season, Kiffin said recently.

“We need some guys to step up,” Kiffin said Monday. “That is a big loss for us. He had done well for us this year with the ball and in protection. Teams face adversity and that (running back) room faces that.”

Ole Miss still has a path to the College Football Playoff with a win against Georgia on Saturday. According to ESPN’s FPI, the Rebels currently have a 30.3% chance of making the playoffs.
