Georgia’s offensive battle against Ole Miss continues

The Georgia Bulldogs have completed the first 30 minutes of their matchup against the Ole Miss Rebels. Here’s what’s happened so far.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels are halfway through their rainy SEC matchup in Oxford. The Dawgs are currently down 7-16 and once again haven’t exactly looked great on the offensive side of the ball.

With the final thirty minutes of regulation in sight, here’s how the first half of the match has gone so far.

The Dawg’s first defensive attack started about as perfect as a fan could ask for, with two sacks and an interception to put the Bulldogs inside the Ole Miss 25-yard line. Georgia quickly turned this lucky opportunity into six and took an early 7-0 lead. The Rebs would respond with a touchdown march of their own to tie the game at 7-7. A bad kickoff return got the Dawgs’ offense started inside their own twenty, and the Bulldogs quickly got a 3-in-out. This gave the Rebels excellent field position, where they eventually took a 10-7 lead with a field goal.

The Dawgs’ offensive woes continued as they were forced to punt again. Ole Miss once again managed to reach the Dawgs’ red zone, but was held to another field goal to make the game 13-7. The Dawgs offense showed some life and went over their own 50 for the first time, but they were unable to convert this into points and were forced to punt again. The Dawg defense once again maintained its “bend, don’t break” mentality as it forced another Ole Miss field goal. Offensive drops doomed the Bulldogs’ final offensive drive of the half.

The Bulldogs are ready to receive the ball and start the second half. Stay tuned for more coverage of the rest of the game.
