The first half of the New York Jets Week 10 game against the Arizona Cardinals is in the books and the Jets trail the Cardinals by 18 points with the score 24 – 6.

The Jets opened the game defensively and got off to a rough start. Just a handful of plays from scrimmage into the game, James Conner took a short screen pass and ran it 45 yards down the sideline to the half-yard line. Two plays later, Conner ran into the end zone for a touchdown and a quick 7-0 Cardinals lead just three minutes into the game.

The Jets answered with a methodical drive deep into Cardinals territory before getting stuck inside the Cardinals 10-yard line. The Jets had to settle for a short field goal and a 7-3 deficit halfway through the first quarter.

The Cardinals came right back, marching down the field with big play after big play, against only token resistance from the Jets. After a DJ Reed interference call in the end zone, Kyler Murray waltzed into the end zone without a Jets player nearby and the Cardinals took an early 14-3 lead. The Jets defense looked hopelessly outmatched early against the Cardinals offense.

The second quarter started with the Jets driving into Cardinals territory. The drive stalled and the Jets settled for a 45-yard field goal early in the second quarter to trail by eight points.

The Cardinals embarked on yet another scoring drive, which ended with Marvin Harrison Jr. beating J.D. Reed. into the end zone for a touchdown and a 21-6 Cardinals lead. At that point, each team had scored every time they got the ball, but the Cardinals scored touchdowns and the Jets scored field goals, leading to a Glendale blowout.

The Jets went three-and-out on their next possession and punted, the first kick of the game for either team. The Cardinals then ended the half with a field goal as time expired.

The Jets entered the locker room trailing the Cardinals by 18 points at 24 – 6. Without a huge turnaround from the Jets, the second half is in danger of becoming an extended garbage time.
