The 45 year old Yellowstone star talked about his naturally gray appearance as he talked People about his series Lioness.

“I asked and here they said yes,” he began. “I asked further Yellowstoneand God bless Mr. (Kevin) Costnerhe said, ‘No, you’re going to dye it. I don’t want to look so old.’ I thought, ‘Oh, okay. Copy that. That makes sense. ”

In the drama, he plays Neal, the surgeon husband of Zoe Saldaña‘s main character Joe.

“So yeah, (for) this one I think it works,” he continued, explaining the gray hair. “We can use it. It looks doctor-like.”

Yellowstone is in its fifth and final season, with the first of the final six episodes premiering on November 10. Lioness‘ second season premieres October 27 on Paramount+.
