Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly from Week 10

How many of you changed the channel or turned off the TV before the Dallas Cowboys game was over on Sunday afternoon? Don’t worry, no one will blame you. It was extremely difficult to endure that 34-6 embarrassment at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, and unfortunately, there will be more similar games to come.

It can no longer be denied now. The Dallas Cowboys are simply one of the worst teams in the league, with Dak Prescott more than likely dealing with a hamstring injury this season that will require surgery. There’s very little to be excited about right now, other than perhaps a few individual players worth keeping an eye on in the future.

For all the bad and ugly in this Week 10 matchup, there was a little bit of good hidden in it if you looked hard enough. You had to pay close attention to see any positives, but we assure you they were there.

THE GOOD – DeMarvion Overshown and Micah Parsons

It’s hard to say who had the better game, so we’re going to say the good thing about this Week 10 game against the Eagles was a tie between DeMarvion Overshown and Micah Parsons. It was really good to see No. 11 back in uniform and dominating as the pass rusher we know him to be. His first game back in action resulted in his first multi-sack (two) game this season. Not to be outdone, however, Overshown also recorded two QB sacks on Sunday afternoon, as well as double-digit tackles (11). These two make Dallas worth watching.

THE BAD – Losing the turnover battle

It’s hard to remember when the Cowboys had two takeaways against Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon. That’s because they turned the ball over five times themselves, erasing everything positive that happened on the offensive and defensive side of the ball in this Week 10 game. This turnover is just further proof of how far this team has fallen and what we can expect from them for the rest of the season. There is no way this team will be competitive if they continue to lose the turnover battle every week.

THE UGLY – QB Cooper Rush

With Dak Prescott sidelined for this Week 10 game against the Eagles, Cooper Rush was promoted to the starting role. While he has proven he can win games by coming on as an injury substitute, Sunday afternoon was not one of his better performances as a starter. It was actually quite deplorable. He completed just 13 of 23 passes for 45 yards and was part of the reason Dallas lost the turnover battle with Philadelphia. His play Sunday is further proof that there is no reason not to start Trey Lance for the rest of the season.
