MAGA Convert Tulsi Gabbard Awarded With Nation Secrets – The Daily Beast

Tulsi Gabbard’s MAGA makeover has finally paid off.

Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he would appoint Gabbard as director of National Intelligence — a powerful position that, if confirmed by the Senate, would give her virtually unfettered access to state secrets as leader of the U.S. intelligence community.

The cabinet appointment marks a significant turnaround for Gabbard. The 43-year-old Army National Guard veteran — and ex-lawmaker from Hawaii — ran for president in 2020 as a Democrat in hopes of replacing Donald Trump.

Tulsi Gabbard spent the summer campaigning for Donald Trump.

However, Gabbard left the Democratic Party in 2022 and spent the late summer campaigning for Trump along with her fellow MAGA convert Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“For more than two decades, Tulsi has fought for our country and the freedoms of all Americans,” Trump wrote in a statement. “As a former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, she has broad support in both parties – she is now a proud Republican!

“I know Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that defined her illustrious career to our intelligence community, standing up for our constitutional rights and securing peace through strength.”

Marco Rubio accused Democrats of not accepting the election results.
Marco Rubio campaigned with Donald Trump in Florida and North Carolina this summer. At one point he was seen as being on a shortlist of running mates for the president-elect.

Gabbard’s announcement came at the same time Trump revealed he wanted to appoint Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) as his secretary of state, ending a days-long wait since rumors first began to spread about the position.

Like Gabbard, Rubio evolved from an opponent of Trump – during the 2016 Republican primaries, where he was infamously dubbed “Little Marco” by Trump – into a top ally in Congress for the newly elected president. That loyalty seemed to be rewarded on Wednesday with his appointment.

“Leading the U.S. Department of State is an enormous responsibility and I am honored by the trust President Trump has placed in me,” Rubio wrote in a statement.
