‘The Mike Tyson of old’… Jake Paul sent a scary KO warning from WWE Hall of Famer

Jake Paul has been warned that he may face a different beast than he is used to on Friday night.

There is now just over a day to go before Paul takes on boxing icon Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. More than 65,000 are expected to attend, with more than 280 million subscribers getting the fight for free as part of their Netflix subscription.

And one WWE Hall of Famer believes ‘Iron Mike’ could bring in the years overnight and pull off a huge knockout victory. The former heavyweight champion turned 58 this summer, but is still considered one of the most feared punchers in the world.

WWE Hall of Famer Titus O’Neil has seen Jake Paul in real life several times

As part of the WWE’s new broadcast deal with Netflix, Global Ambassador Thaddeus Bullard was invited to Texas to attend the fight week festivities for their first ever live fight. Known by the ring name Titus O’Neil, the former tag team champion was inducted into the 2020 Hall of Fame class when he won the Warrior Award.

He was present at open training yesterday and watched as Mike Tyson almost knocked out his own trainer Rafael Cordeiro. And he’s actually something of an expert when it comes to Tyson’s opponent Jake Paul, having seen his fights live four times.

“I was at the Mike Perry fight and I was also there when he fought Tyron Woodley and got a crazy knockout,” Bullard told Bloody Elbow in an exclusive chat. “I have a lot of respect for him, simply because he literally threw himself into a sport he has never practiced before.

“What he has been able to achieve and build, not only for himself but for other fighters in the sport of boxing, is amazing. We’re in the sports entertainment business and this is very WWE-esque in terms of the build-up to the fight and you don’t get much bigger a platform than this fight on Netflix.

Titus O’Neil believes Mike Tyson will score the KO victory over Jake Paul

However, despite his outspoken support for Paul, Bullard still believes that Mike Tyson is perhaps the greatest boxer of all time. And if ‘Iron Mike’ can show even a glimpse of his former power, the WWE star believes he will score another quick knockout victory.

“Almost every time he did something, whether it was an interview or a fight, just his demeanor and his whole presence and aura that he exudes in every room, he was just ready to fight,” Bullard explained of Tyson .

“He’s at the point now where all the talk is over, and I’m looking forward and hoping to see the Mike Tyson of old as best he can be. The fight lasts just eight rounds and two minutes, and at the age of 58, anything can happen.

“He’s never needed two minutes, and considering he’s Mike Tyson and I saw him in training yesterday, I wouldn’t want to get in the ring with him… My prediction for Friday night, as much as I admire and respect what Jake Paul built, I’m an old school fan too.

“That inner fan in me and that old-fashioned thing tells me that Mike Tyson is going to win. And if he wins, it will be via a knockout.”
