Eva Longoria has chosen to live her life outside the US.

The “Desperate Housewives” star told Marie Claire in an interview published Wednesday that she and her husband José Bastón, along with their six-year-old son Santiago, no longer call Los Angeles home. Her family has lived primarily outside of Hollywood for years and now divides their time between Spain and Mexico, the publication said.

Longoria said she increasingly feels that the US is “a scary place” and that she thinks the country will continue to monitor the results of the presidential election.

She acknowledged that she is “privileged” to be able to offer herself and her family an escape abroad.

“I can escape and go somewhere. Most Americans are not so lucky,” she added. “They will be stuck in this dystopian country, and my fear and sadness are for them.”

The actor spent her summer campaigning for the Harris-Walz ticket in an effort to recruit Latino voters.

“I would like our fight to continue,” she said of her work for the Democratic party.

Even before the pandemic, Longoria, a Texas native, said she felt like the country was “changing” for a variety of reasons, but it really came down to wanting to start over.

“It feels like this chapter in my life is now over.”

Most recently, Longoria starred in and produced the series “Land of Women,” and appeared in six episodes of “Only Murders in the Building.”
