Week 11 begins with a battle for the NFC East lead as the Philadelphia Eagles (7-2) host the Washington Commanders (7-3) on “Thursday Night Football.” These rivals have met 178 times in their history, with Washington holding a slight 88-85 lead in the regular season and a 1-0 edge in the playoffs, while the Eagles have the recent advantage having won five of the last six win matches.

Washington has been one of the feel-good stories of the 2024 season, carrying the hot hand of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels to a great start to the year. Daniels has been great on the road this season, posting a 76.9 completion percentage and a 116.2 passer rating.

The Eagles were 2-2 heading into their Week 5 bye, but have since won five straight (the second-highest NFC winning streak behind only the Detroit Lions) and sit atop the NFC East for now. Jalen Hurts has been great over the last four games and is the first quarterback in NFL history with a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown and a passer rating of 100+ in every game during that span.

Last week the Eagles beat the Cowboys – who hasn’t, am I right? – as the Commanders look to get back to their winning ways after a heartbreaking ending against the Steelers last week.

Betting line and choice for the game

The folks at FanDuel Sportsbook favor the home team in this game, with the betting line set Eagles -3.5 points. I like the Eagles in this game, but I expect it to be a close match. I think Washington will make this an entertaining game to watch, but the Eagles probably have too many weapons to recognize.
