Disney is facing backlash over ‘Snow White’ star Rachel Zegler’s comments about Trump

Rachel Zegler whistles a controversial tune.

After the “Snow White” star went on a tirade against those who voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 election, the president-elect’s supporters began calling on Disney to take action.

Zegler will play the titular role of Snow White in the live-action film, which will be released in spring 2025. With her comments going viral on X, outraged Trump supporters are vowing to boycott the project.

“I will not take my children to see this garbage after the statement you made. Disney, you need to do something about this,” one social media user wrote in the Daily Mail.

“I hope you don’t get any rest if this movie BOMBS at the box office and streaming,” wrote a second.

Others hope the young star loses her job and Disney shelves the film entirely.

“Rachel Zegler is unhinged and a liability,” one critic claimed. ‘They should put Snow White on the shelf for good and distance themselves from her. Her involvement in the company alienates millions of people and poisons the brand as a whole.”

After Trump’s victory last week, Zegler shared a series of messages with her 2.3 million Instagram followers.

“I find myself speechless in the middle of this. another four years of hate, leading us to a world I don’t want to live in,” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram Story. “I shouldn’t be so shocked. but it’s me. I am heartbroken for my friends who woke up this morning in fear. and I’m here with you. crying, screaming, hugging. to wax poetic about how the left continues to fail us in charting a new path forward. this loss should not have happened. and that certainly should not have happened with so many votes.”

“May Trump’s supporters, Trump’s voters and Trump himself never know peace,” Zegler said. “Another four years of hate, leaning us into a world I don’t want to live in. Leaning us into a world where it will be difficult to raise my daughter.”

In a follow-up post, the actress added that there is a “deep, deep illness” in the United States due to the large number of people who voted for a “man who threatens our democracy.”

Describing Kamala Harris’ loss as “a loss that should not have happened… and it certainly should not have happened by so many votes,” Zegler took a moment to address Trump’s campaign.

She continued, “It’s terrifying how many people support what this man preaches. it is a foolish subscription to a false sense of security, of masculinity, of intelligence, of patriotism and of humanity. there is no help, no counsel, in any of them. I could go on. I won’t do it. I feel sad. you probably too. fk this.”

Also taking a shot at billionaire Elon Musk, who became one of Trump’s most outspoken allies and has secured a spot on the president-elect’s team, she noted: “Get away from Elon’s app.”

“I don’t use that app for nothing. He helped get that man elected and you’re giving him business,” the Disney star explained.

The Post has reached out to Disney for comment.

The “Hunger Games” alum previously criticized the original 1937 animated film “Snow White,” calling David Hand’s work “extremely dated when it comes to ideas about women in roles of power and what a woman is fit for in the world.”

“The original cartoon came out in 1937, and that was clearly the case,” Zegler told Extra in 2022.

“There is a lot of attention for her love story with a man who literally stalks her. Foreign. So we didn’t do that this time,” she joked.

At the time, Zegler also spoke to Variety about how her version of “Snow White” would be about becoming a “fearless leader” instead of “dreaming about true love.”
