Warriors vs Grizzlies predictions: odds, expert picks, expected starting lineup, betting trends and stats

Two of the hottest teams in the NBA meet when the Grizzlies and Warriors tip off in San Francisco for the second game of an ESPN doubleheader.

The Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Lakers in their last outing (128-123) after three straight wins, leaving them 7-5 on the season. Memphis is still without stars Ja Morant and Desmond Bane, but Jaren Jackson leads the way with more than 20 points in four straight games and youngsters like Scotty Pippen Jr., Zach Edey and Santi Aldama are pulling ahead.

The Golden State Warriors are 9-2 this season and are coming off an emotional win against Klay Thompson and the Mavericks. Golden State has won seven of its past eight games and is one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Stephen Curry is also in trouble, scoring 36 and 37 points in the last two games and leading the team in scoring four of the past five.

That said, let’s dive into the match and provide some information and possibly some sweat.

NBC Sportsbook Best Bet

Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes Draymond Green going under his 20.5 points + rebounds + assists against the Grizzlies:

“The Warriors just came off a thrilling home win over Klay Thompson and the Mavericks, so key players like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green may not be as motivated when they host the Memphis Grizzlies, who are missing Ja Morant and other key players.

The Grizzlies defense has been solid over the last three games, ranking in the top seven in multiple categories over the last three games. They are limiting opponents to just 41.4% shooting from the field, 28% from three-point range and just 107.0 points per game.

Draymond Green puts in a strong performance, with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in a season-high 32 minutes. Before that, he scored 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists against Oklahoma City, marking two consecutive games in which he went over his PRA line.

However, I want to fade green in this spot. With a career-low usage rate of just 13.5%, his involvement is minimal compared to other role players like Taj Gibson, Nic Claxton and Brandon Clarke. Given these trends and the situation, I take the PRA below 20.5 with odds of -130.
