Saturday’s Navy-Tulane football game is sold out

ANNAPOLIS, MD.– Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk announced today that Saturday’s home game against Tulane is sold out and a stadium-record crowd is expected. The current stadium record is 38,803, set last year against the Air Force.

Tulane (8-2, 6-0 in the American Athletic Conference) enters Saturday’s game ranked 25th in the Associated press poll and by the College Football Playoff Committee. A Green Wave win would put them in the AAC Championship Game, while a Navy (7-2, 5-1 in the American Athletic Conference) would keep the Mids’ hopes alive for a spot in the championship game.

Navy already has a win over a top 25 opponent this year when the Mids defeated Memphis 56-44 on September 21. Navy has not defeated two top 25 opponents in the same year since 1958.

Saturday is also Senior Day and the 300e Navy football game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Mids will honor their 23 seniors in a pregame ceremony. Excluding the COVID year of no fans in the stands, Navy is 19-1 on Senior Day over the past 20 years.

A win would also give Navy an undefeated record at home for just the sixth time in school history in years when the Mids played five or more games at home.

Tulane has won 16 consecutive American Athletic Conference regular-season games, which is the longest winning streak in the active conference of any team in the country. The AAC record is 17 straight wins, set by UCF (2017-19) and Cincinnati (2020-22).
