Severe storms are causing power outages, school closures and delays in Oklahoma

Severe storms are hitting Oklahoma Monday morning.

OG&E’s outage map shows that more than 1,400 customers are without power as of 7:30 a.m. and that several schools have closed or switched to remote learning.

Out of an abundance of caution, Norman Public Schools said it will be closed on Monday, November 18.

All preschool training and activities are also cancelled.

Officials will monitor the weather to determine if after-school practices and activities are affected.

Edmond Public Schools have moved to remote learning and Oklahoma City Public Schools will have a virtual day.

The Oklahoma City Municipal Court canceled all morning hearings Monday due to weather.

The afternoon sessions will continue as planned.

The Oklahoma County Clerk’s office opens late at 9:00 AM
