It was one of the more unexpected results of the Week 11 slate of games, as the Denver Broncos absolutely strangled a talented Atlanta Falcons team by a score of 38-6. Given the score of the game, Atlanta decided to sign their rookie quarterback in Michael Penix Jr. to provide some live replays as the match was clearly getting out of hand.

Since it was late in the game, fans only got a glimpse of their future franchise quarterback, but what was shown was some of what everyone saw during Penix’s time in Washington in his explosive arm talent. Ultimately, Penix completed two of his four attempted passes for 24 yards in the final minutes of the game.

The real question during this rookie sighting is when fans might see Penix again. The Falcons were not long ago clear favorites to win the NFC South behind veteran Kirk Cousins, but as the losses start to pile up in the trainwreck style they have had over the last two weeks, you have to wonder if the Falcons might want to see what Penix is capable of with the talent around him. It’s unlikely a trade will happen immediately, but a loss or two at the plate will undoubtedly set off a frenzy of questions and force the coaching staff’s hand to pull the trigger on their first-round quarterback.
