High winds will hit Oregon Tuesday and Wednesday

At 4:35 a.m. Monday, a high wind warning was issued by the National Weather Service, effective from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday for the Northern Blue Mountains Foothills of Oregon, Southern Blue Mountains Foothills of Oregon, North Central Oregon and Central Oregon.

The weather service says, “South to southeast winds 30 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.”

“Damaging winds could down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,” the weather service explained. “Keep an eye on the latest forecasts and alerts for updates. Secure loose items or sheltered items in a safe location before the wind starts.”

Advance Local Weather Alerts is a service from United Robots, which uses machine learning to gather the latest data from the National Weather Service.
