ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ hints and answers for Monday, November 18

Hey, there! I hope your week has started well.

I’m taking another look at the list of games I hope to play before putting together my annual Games of the Year list, and it’s getting harder and harder. It’s probably time to cross off the list some titles I’m less confident about – and maybe even play more stuff instead of continuing to rot my brain with endless social media fluff. I really have to get through it Call of Duty: Black Ops6 and a few other things on Game Pass before my subscription expires next week.

Anyway! Today NYT Connections hints and answers for tuesday november 19th are coming soon.

Play connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. Every day you get a new puzzle at midnight. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.

You will be shown a grid of 16 words. Your job is to divide them into four groups of four by discovering the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names for study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that fit into more than one category. You can play the words in any order so you might see the connections between them.

Each group has a color code. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often uses puns.

Select four words that you think go together and press Send. If you make a guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to the right group, you might see a message saying you’re just one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today’s information Connections answers. As in Word and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have a NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connectionsso you can go back and play the games you missed.

Apart from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my hints for each grid via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

What are today’s answers to connections?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to explore today’s information Connections answers.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections answers are…

  • Yellow group — area of expertise (CONCENTRATION, FIELD, FOCUS, SPECIALTY)
  • Green group — ways to unlock a device (FACE, FINGERPRINT, PASSWORD, PIN)
  • Blue group – pasta shapes (EAR, ELBOW, RIBBON, WHEEL)
  • Purple Group — Double _____ (AGENT, DRIBBLE, JEOPARDY, STANDARD)

Not a perfect game, but today’s match marks a threepeat. There’s a new series going on, y’all. Here’s how I fared:

🟩🟦🟩🟩

🟩🟩🟩🟩

🟨🟨🟨🟨

🟪🟪🟪🟪

Unfortunately, DANGER, WHEEL, PASSWORD, and CONCENTRATION were not a group, nor was I one of a game show collective.

Then I tried to guess PASSWORD, FACE, FINGERPRINT and EAR in terms of authentication methods. I was aware that ears are unique and can be used for verification purposes, but I was one away from a group. Of course, PIN was the missing fourth word to give me the green light.

In retrospect the yellow colors were quite obvious and that’s what I got. Then I had a bit of luck with the blues. I thought WHEEL was a reference to the knee and RIBBON was the only other thing that made any sense as a term for a joint. At least I discovered the purple compound before sealing the victory.

That’s all it takes for today Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and the solution for Wednesday’s game if you need it.

PS One of my bucket list bands that I loved as a kid and still haven’t seen live (realistically) is Deftones. Those first few albums were great and I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad song from them.

Unfortunately, they won’t be visiting my city on their tour in early 2025, and I have a lot of other shows close to home around that time, so I probably won’t travel to see them this time. In any case, I’m going to enjoy their timeless, melodic, experimental metal all day long:
