The Ukrainian military has carried out its first attack on Russian territory using US-made ATACMS ballistic missiles, RBC Ukraine reported, citing a source in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the source, the attack targeted a military facility near the city of Karachev in Russia’s Bryansk region. “It was hit successfully,” he said.

Karachev is located approximately 130 kilometers (80 miles) from the Ukrainian border.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported an attack on an arms depot in the Bryansk region on Tuesday morning, but did not specify what type of weapon was used.

Karachev is located near the 67th arsenal of the Russian Main Missile and Artillery Directorate. Russia’s Telegram channel Astra reported that locals in the area reported “explosions, blasts and an attack on the military base” on social media throughout the night.

Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz only reported that Russia was short of thirteen drones in the region at night and in the morning.
