ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ hints and answers for Saturday, November 23

Hello, gang! I’ve been a little sick the past few days, so I’ve been trying to rest… and play some video games of course. I hope you have a better weekend than I did!

Today NYT Connections hints and answers for Sunday November 24th are coming soon.

Play connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. Every day you get a new puzzle at midnight. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.

You will be shown a grid of 16 words. Your job is to divide them into four groups of four by discovering the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names for study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that fit into more than one category. You can play the words in any order so you might see the connections between them.

Each group has a color code. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often uses puns.

Select four words that you think go together and press Send. If you make a guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to the right group, you might see a message saying you’re just one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today’s information Connections answers. As in Word and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have a NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connectionsso you can go back and play the games you missed.

Apart from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my hints for each grid via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

My first thought was that maybe a group of characters could come out of it The Addams Family. But I immediately didn’t see anything else that matched LURCH, WEDNESDAY and THING.

It took me a while to figure out something else that made sense (thanks, cold!). But ultimately I drew a line between TRANCE and JUNGLE for the blues.

Nothing else was right, so I took a break to play a video game, hoping to come back with fresh eyes. Maybe I care a little too much Connections stripe.

Maybe PITCH, HEAVE, PLACE and LURCH? They are all verbs. But no, I was one away. Dropping LURCH for REEL left me with one too, but the switch to TRAY (I don’t know why) was a step in the opposite direction. Still, I finally got the yellow one.

I had one more life to get the green and purple colors. Crunch time. In any case, the idea of the Addams Family was not in line with the idea of LURCH.

Luckily it only took a few seconds to spot the greens on the smaller grid. There aren’t many things that match WEDNESDAY, so the purple connection then became obvious (although I had a hard time finding a good clue for it).

One complaint, if I may. A noun is inherently a THING, so the green group doesn’t quite work. Using any other word would have negated the Addams Family red herring, so I can see why it’s here.

Okay, time for a nap.

That’s all it takes for today Connections clues and answers. Make sure to visit my blog for tips and Monday’s game solution if you need it.

PS I recommended a few songs from the great Northern Irish rock band Ash (arguably a pop band with loud guitars) when I did my “British bands I listened to a lot growing up” in the spring. Yet I feel obliged to do this again today. To do this, turn up the volume a bit, let go and shake it all out:
