After seeing their bid for the first perfect season since the 1972 Miami Dolphins end last week, the Kansas City Chiefs hit the road Sunday to face the Carolina Panthers with revenge on their minds.

The Chiefs are 9-1 on the season after falling 30-21 to the Buffalo Bills last weekend. Even after the loss, Kansas City is in first place in the AFC West, ahead of the 7-3 Los Angeles Chargers. Kansas City has already beaten Los Angeles once this season, 17-10 on September 29, and another matchup between the two AFC West leaders is looming on December 8.

It’s been a somewhat up-and-down season for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on the campaign. Still, Mahomes remains one of the best signal callers in the NFL. Leading the way for Kansas City through the air this season is tight end Travis Kelce with 507 receiving yards on 62 receptions and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Kareem Hunt leads things for Kansas City through the ground with 509 yards and five touchdowns of his own.

Carolina, meanwhile, is 3-7 on the season, last in the NFC South. However, things have been looking brighter for the Panthers lately, as the team has won its last two games, beating the New Orleans Saints 23-22 on November 3 and then the New York Giants 20-17 on November 17 . The game will be far from a pushover for the Chiefs.

Former No. 1 overall pick quarterback Bryce Young has been playing solid football lately, with the former Alabama standout throwing two touchdowns and just one interception over the Panthers’ last two games.
