Carolina Panthers tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders was pulled from Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The rookie appeared to have injured his neck after recording a 10-yard reception late in the second quarter of the Week 12 game. Sanders ran to the sideline when he was tackled by Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie and linebacker Drue Tranquill, whose hit landed Sanders on the top of his head.

Sanders had three catches for a team-high 49 receiving yards to that point.

Update (2:51 PM ET): Sanders (neck) was taken to a hospital for further examination.
