Jude Law just ruined ‘The Holiday’ and he’s sorry

CNN

Jude Law broke a few hearts by sharing some behind-the-scenes information about the classic film ‘The Holiday’.

During a recent interview with BBC Radio, Law discussed the 2006 Christmas film, which for many is a must-see every winter holiday. He plays Cameron Diaz’s love interest and Kate Winslet’s brother in the rom-com.

“I think it’s just glorious, honestly,” Law said of “The Holiday”’s long popularity with audiences.

Then he came up with some surprising information when one of the hosts asked if he could possibly rent a place to stay in the cozy cottage featured prominently in the film.

“That house doesn’t exist,” Law replied, causing the people in the room to gasp.

According to the actor, the film’s director, Nancy Meyers, is “a bit of a perfectionist.”

“She traveled all over the area but couldn’t quite find the chocolate house she was looking for,” he recalls. “So she just rented a field, drew it and had someone build it.”

The interior scenes of the cottage weren’t even filmed in the picturesque English countryside.

“We were filming here in the winter,” the actor said of filming part of “The Holiday” in Britain. “Every time I went through that door, we were cutting and shooting the interiors in LA about three months later.”

Sparked further dismay among attendees at the conversation, including one person saying, “We don’t want to hear it anymore! You’re ruining it!”

“All you have to do is burst the bubble,” Law said, “sorry!”

Way to be a Grinch, Jude Law!
