New York is in for a wet Thanksgiving as a fast-moving storm brings much-needed moisture to the Northeast that could complicate travel plans and bring rain to Macy’s famous holiday parade.

The storm is expected to drop up to an inch of rain beginning early Thursday morning in northern New Jersey, New York and Boston, with heavier rainfall possible along the Atlantic coast north of Portland, Maine. At higher elevations in the Adirondacks, Catskills and Pocono Mountains, rain will likely turn to snow during Thanksgiving Day.
