Behind the Scenes of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 33 Finale (Exclusive)

First, Joey Graziadei got the girl The bachelorand now he won the Mirrorball trophy.

The Bachelor, 29, and his partner Jenna Johnson defeated former NFL pro Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, actress Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong, Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten, and Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold to win Dancing with the stars season 33 on Tuesday, November 26. It came down to Joey and Jenna, 30, and Ilona, 28, and Alana, 30, but the former tennis pro ultimately came out on top after scoring a 29/30 on their Freestyle to “Canned Heat” and a perfect score on their Cha Cha to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”

Joey, who got engaged to Kelsey Anderson in the finale of his engagement Bachelor season, told PEOPLE that he had big — and boozy — plans to celebrate his win.

“I’ve got a really nice bottle of Patron and we’re going to get a little drunk,” he said. “I’ll be honest, it’s been a bit.”

PEOPLE were in the ballroom as host Alfonso Ribeiro crowned Joey and Jenna the winners – and here’s what happened behind the scenes during the buzzing finale night:

  • Right after Joey and Jenna received the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy from Season 32 champions Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy (Jenna’s husband!), Joey’s fiancé Kelsey, 26, left after taking photos of Good morning America and didn’t do any interviews. However, Joey had other Bachelor Nation supporters on hand, like Tanner Courtad from Charity Lawson’s season and Jason Tartick.
  • Val celebrated his wife’s epic win and continued to give Jenna hugs and kisses after the results were announced.
  • All the eliminated couples stayed behind to congratulate the top 5 contestants.

  • Rylee, 19, skipped most interviews and was very emotional. However, she was supported by her entire family, who stayed behind to support her and Stephen. Her boyfriend Walker Lyons spent time playing with Rylee’s niece Sage, 4, and nephew Samuel, 16 months. Their mother is Rylee’s sister and colleague DWTS pro Lindsay Arnold. Rylee and Stephen, 26, left after chatting Good morning America.
  • Brandon, 30, appeared upset, and Chandler, 24, gave shorter answers than usual while speaking to reporters on the red carpet. The couple immediately received support from their loved ones, including Chandler’s Zombies family by her side and Brandon’s wife Brylee stuck around during press time.
  • Alan was emotional after his second place and was very reassuring and congratulatory to Ilona.
  • Other couples from the season, such as model Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko and Bachelorette Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber, returned for the finale after creating much off-screen speculation about their romantic relationships. Brooks, 27, walked around all night with a large diamond on her ring finger and couldn’t keep her hands off Gleb, 41.
  • Jenn, 27, and Sasha, 40, also stayed together all night, but they didn’t do as much flirty touching as Brooks and Gleb, despite the Bachelor party alum previously said she may be moving in with the dance pro in Los Angeles.
  • Jonathan Johnson of Jenn’s Bachelor party Season was back in the audience and immediately went to hug her and Sasha after the show.
