Bayer Leverkusen defeated RB Salzburg 5-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday evening after leading 2-0 eleven minutes into the match.

In a post-match interview (via UEFA.com), Granit Xhaka pointed out that the match itself was not easy, but Leverkusen made it easy for themselves with the performance they put in.

“We didn’t have an easy game today. We made it easy for ourselves with a strong performance. Salzburg has a lot of quality, but we have not allowed this quality to develop,” said Xhaka.

The victory puts Leverkusen in a good position with ten points from five Champions League games.

“With Inter, Atlético and Prague we now have three big tasks ahead of us. Our aim is to make things clear before Christmas,” said Xhaka.
