Macy’s will celebrate its 98th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 28. The famous event will feature 34 floats, 11 marching bands, 28 clown crews, 11 performance groups and more.

Here’s everything you need to know, courtesy of Macy’s:

What time does the Macy’s parade start?

The parade lasts from 8:30 am to 12 noon. The event will be broadcast on TV and streamed from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM in all time zones.

Where to watch Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2024

The parade will be broadcast live on NBC. The film will be simulcast on Peacock, which currently has a Black Friday deal with an annual subscription of $19.99, or $11.94 for six months (paid monthly). What is the route of the Macy’s parade? How to view personally?

The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. at West 77th Street and Central Park West and ends at noon at the Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square on 34th Street.

The parade runs mostly through Central Park West and then down Sixth Avenue. There will be nearly 2 miles of designated public viewing points along the route. Arrive as early as 6am to secure a nice spot.

Central Park West: There are great viewing spots available along Central Park West from 61st to 75th Street. However, there is no public access for viewing between 59th and 60th streets.

Sixth Avenue: The stretch from 38th to 59th Street offers some of the best views as it is near the end of the parade. Spectators should avoid the area on Sixth Avenue between 34th and 38th Streets because the live television broadcast limits viewing there.

The weather forecast predicts rain, so dress accordingly.

Who will host the 2024 Macy’s parade?

The event is hosted by Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker (hosting the event for the 29th time) of NBC’s “Today.”
