Costco just recalled more than 10,000 cartons of eggs due to possible Salmonella contamination

Attention Costco shoppers, there is an active recall for approximately 10,800 sales units of organic pasture-raised 24-count eggs sold under the Kirkland Signature brand, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. This is because of potential Salmonella infection.

According to the FDA report, the eggs were sold in 25 stores in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee as of November 22, 2024. No illnesses have been reported so far.

The affected eggs are 24 pieces of organic pastured eggs sold in a plastic egg carton labeled Kirkland Signature. The eggs are marked UPC 9661910680, have a Julian code 327 and a best before date of January 6, 2025.

If you have any of the affected eggs in your refrigerator, return them to Costco for a refund or throw them away immediately.

Salmonella infection (also known as salmonellosis) can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, headache, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. Symptoms may be more severe in people aged 65 years or older, in those with a weakened immune system, or in young children. If you experience any of these symptoms after eating the affected eggs, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

If you have any questions regarding the recall, please contact Handsome Brook Farms at (646) 733-4532, ext. 1, Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm EST or at [email protected].
