PayPal is testing Honey on Black Friday after a $4 billion acquisition

This time, Black Friday is a special day for PayPal (NASDAQ:PYPL) to test its newly acquired Honey; a browser extension and mobile app to help users find coupons.

Earlier this week, PayPal announced the pricey $4 billion purchase of Honey, the browser extension and mobile app that will give PayPal a lot of data about how shoppers search for products and which coupons they use at checkout.

The data obtained will play a crucial role in becoming the ultimate payment processor, allowing PayPal to build more partnerships with more retailers and brands.

Currently, PayPal already has 300 million users, and Honey will help PayPal see what items its users are looking for and want to buy and at what price they will ultimately have to check out. The data will help PayPal convince retailers that it can help them better understand customers about what product people want at what price.
