16-year-old high school soccer player dies from brain injury sustained during game

A star high school football player has died after suffering a brain injury during a game on Friday night, his school and family confirmed.

Quarterback Caden Tellier, 16, was injured during a tackle in the third quarter while playing for John T. Morgan Academy, a private school in Selma, Alabama, against Southern Academy.

His mother, Arsella Slagel Tellier, said in a Facebook post Saturday: “Anyone who knows Caden knows kindness, generosity and love, and true to his nature he gives of himself one more time.”
