Top-seeded Liberty won Game 1 87-77 and then won Game 2 88-84 to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series. Sabrina Ionescu has been the standout player in this series and leads the offensive attack in the postseason with averages of 24.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and six assists. The Liberty are chasing their first-ever WNBA championship title. They have made it to the WNBA Finals five times, most recently in 2023, where they lost to the Las Vegas Aces.

In the other half of the set, the Connecticut Sun narrowly defeated the Minnesota Lynx with a thrilling 73-70 victory in Game 1, thanks to an impressive performance from Marina Mabrey, who scored 20 points. However, the Lynx staged a comeback to earn a 77–70 victory in Game 2 at Target Center, tying the series with the Sun.
