2024 WNBA Playoffs: How to Watch, When Caitlin Clark Plays Next, and More

The 2024 WNBA season will go down in history for a number of reasons: the league set an all-time attendance record, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark set a record for rookie scorers, and this year’s MVP, A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, became the first player in the league to score 1,000 points in a season, to name a few. The list of accomplishments this season alone is staggering, which makes the current playoff tournament all the more exciting. The first round of the 2024 WNBA playoffs kicked off on Sunday, September 22, with two games being played on Tuesday night. Tune in to ESPN to watch Game 2 between the New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream at 7:30 PM ET tonight and the Seattle Storm vs. Las Vegas Aces at 9:30 PM ET. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the WNBA playoffs, including where to watch, which teams are playing, and current standings.

The first round of the WNBA playoffs began on Sunday, September 22. The playoffs will continue through October 18 if necessary.

So far, there are seven confirmed teams in the 2024 WBNA playoffs, with Chicago, Atlanta and Washington vying for the eighth and final spot, which will be determined after Thursday’s games conclude.

The WNBA playoffs will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN Networks and ABC.

Yes, DirecTV will resume ABC and all ESPN channels after a brief hiatus in coverage on the platform. DirecTV subscribers will be able to watch every WNBA playoff game.

While this season’s WNBA games will be broadcast on more than 10 channels and streaming platforms, including Prime Video, ION and other national broadcast networks, the playoffs will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and ESPN. Please note that they will not will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The WNBA playoffs feature an eight-team bracket; participating teams are chosen based on their regular season record. The first round is played in a best-of-three series. The semifinals and finals are played in a best-of-five series.
