San Francisco 49ers rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall stood in plain clothes on the sidelines at Levi’s Stadium Monday night after he was shot during an attempted robbery.

The first responders who helped save Pearsall’s life were also on the sidelines for the game, and he invited them to come and watch the opening game of the season.

The video shows Pearsall hugging the emergency workers, having a nice conversation with them and presenting them with signed shirts.

The 49ers fan base roared as they showed the interaction on the jumbotron. Pearsall also appeared to write a message on the back of each jersey.

Pearsall, the 31st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by San Fran, was shot during a struggle with a 17-year-old suspect, who was charged with attempted murder, assault with a semi-automatic weapon and attempted second-degree robbery. Several weapons-related charges were also added last week.

The 17-year-old reportedly tried to steal Pearsall’s luxury watch, which he was wearing as he walked to his car.

Pearsall was shot in the chest, and the bullet exited his body through his back without hitting any vital organs. First responders were seen on video of the incident tending to Pearsall as he walked toward an ambulance.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said he sent a message to the team shortly after learning of the incident.

“Yeah, when everybody came in,” Shanahan said of the mood in the 49ers building after the team learned the news. “Nobody knew the full story, so I was able to reassure everybody when they got there that he was absolutely fine, and that’s a miracle. I think he was shot about an inch below his praying hands tattoo. The whole story is pretty amazing.”

After being treated in hospital, Pearsall was finally able to talk to his teammates via FaceTime.

Pearsall was eventually released from San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. He was spotted working with the team last week.

The 49ers are reportedly placing him on the non-football injury list, which will give him time to recover from the shooting injuries and the shoulder and hamstring injuries he battled during training camp.
