5,000 people without power near Berkeley: PGE

(KRON) – More than 5,000 people were without power in the Berkeley area on Monday, according to Pacific Gas & Electric Company.

The outage is mainly located near the Tilden Natural Area and the Charles Lee Tilden Regional Park. Residents can view the exact location of the outage on the Pacific Gas & Electric website.

Calls are growing for the San Mateo County sheriff to resign

A PG&E spokesperson told KRON4: “The outage you called about began just before 1:45 p.m. and is impacting nearly 5,000 customers. We are working to restore power safely and as quickly as possible.”

According to PGE, there is no estimated time of restoration.
