OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Tuesday was a cold day all around… highs in the 50s after a start in the 30s. With clear skies and light winds, we expect a big drop in temperatures tonight with widespread frost on Wednesday morning. We made it a 6 First Alert Weather Day:

The risk of frost is increasing, with temperatures likely to start below 30 degrees on Wednesday morning.

The growing season is over at this point and a hard freeze is possible in some spots.

Freeze warnings are in effect for almost the entire viewing area, with the exception of the NW corner, where freezing conditions were already present Monday morning.

Later Wednesday we will get southerly winds and that will help us get back into the 60s! We will remain stormy for the rest of the working week.

High fire danger will be a concern due to red flag warnings on Wednesday west of the metro and a fire department. Watch out for most of E Nebraska and W Iowa on Thursday.

Highs return to the 70s on Thursday, with overnight temperatures in the 50s.

Some showers are possible on Saturday, but that chance seems small… there is another chance of development before the start of the working week.
