MIDLAND, MI (WNEM) – Seven baseball players participating in this year’s World Series were former Great Lakes Loons.

The Great Lakes Loons said Los Angeles Dodgers Walker Buehler, Will Smith, Gavin Lux, Landon Knack, Andy Pages and Ben Casparius were all former Loons.

New York Yankees outfielder Alex Verdugo, who previously played for the Dodgers, is also a former Loon.

The Great Lakes Loons is the High-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers will face off in the World Series and their first game will begin on Friday, October 25 at 8:08 PM in Los Angeles.
