A look at RB Saquon Barkley’s contract incentives with Eagles

Barkley will earn a total of $13.5 million this season through his signing bonus, training bonus and base salary. He could earn up to an additional $3 million in individual and team rewards for performance this season.

If he totals 1,500 rushing and receiving yards combined (he’s already at 1,347), he’ll earn a $250,000 bonus, payable in February. If he exceeds 2,000 meters, he gets another $250,000. The amount he earned from his waiver incentive would also be added to his 2025 base salary as an escalator. In other words, 2,000 combined yards would earn him a total of $1 million.

For a first-team All-Pro selection, Barkley will earn a $500,000 incentive. Second-team honors or a vote in the Pro Bowl would earn him $250,000. Similar to the distance premium, the same amount would also be added to his 2025 base salary as an escalator.

Barkley also has up to $500,000 tied to the team’s postseason performance. For wins in the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl, Barkley would earn $250,000 each. (This incentive also requires him to rush for 1,000 yards in the regular season, which he has already done.) Again, whatever Barkley earns through an incentive would also be added to his 2025 base salary.

Going back to the 11 times Barkley was tackled on the 1 or 2, they are as follows: five Hurts rushing TDs, one Hurts passing TD, one Barkley rushing TD and a field goal.

Barkley fantasy owners might not love it. Barkley doesn’t seem to mind, though, saying earlier in the season, “Whether it’s me scoring, Jalen scoring, just finding ways to get into the end zone. That’s the way to win football games.”
