PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck off the Oregon coast Thursday evening.

The earthquake was recorded at 4:58 p.m., about 75 miles (120 kilometers) from Coos Bay, the United States Geological Survey said.

Earthquakes are regularly reported off the Oregon coast, although this one is larger than most.

As of 9:52 a.m. Friday, 27 people had reported to the USGS on their website that they had felt the earthquake.

No injuries or damage to land were reported.
