Just before the New York Jets’ final first-half appearance Monday night against the Buffalo Bills, ESPN showed a montage of Aaron Rodgers’ Hail Mary completions. There have been three in his career.

Moments later he had his fourth.

Rodgers threw one up late in the half and his old Green Bay Packers teammate Allen Lazard came down with it. It was about 52 meters. The 40-year-old quarterback can still throw it downfield.

Instead of trailing 20-10 at halftime against the Buffalo Bills, the Jets only trailed 20-17.

There was almost some controversy. Lazard ended up with the ball in the end zone and moments later he popped out. Initially it was considered incomplete, but another official came in and ignored the call, saying it was completed. Then ESPN showed the replay and it was clear that Lazard had the ball, and it was ripped out long after gaining possession.

Rodgers had three other Hail Marys: one for Richard Rodgers to beat the Lions, another for Jeff Janis to send a wild-card game in Arizona to overtime and another in the playoffs for Randall Cobb at the end of the first half. He is still the king of Hail Mary passes.
