The New York Jets appeared primed for a potential midseason turnaround after last week’s win over the Houston Texans snapped a five-game losing streak.

They are now back in the loss column after a 31-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Any momentum the Jets had after the big win against Houston disappeared in one of their worst offensive performances of the season. Aaron Rodgers completed 22 of his 35 passes for just 151 yards and no touchdowns. He also turned the ball over with a fumble. New York couldn’t get much on the ground either, as Breece Hall and Baelon Allen combined for just 79 rushing yards.

The Jets’ only points came on a pair of Spencer Shrader field goals.

Cardinals’ quarterback Kyler Murray was electric in the win, completing 22 of his 24 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown. He also picked up a pair of touchdowns on the ground.

After the game, NFL fans roasted Rodgers and the Jets for the pathetic display.

An uncompetitive, unserious first half of the #Jetswho allowed the Cardinals offense to score on all four of their drives, missed about 100 tackles, committed multiple penalties and didn’t have a big playmaking ability on offense. Fortunately, only 18 behind us (never good to have to…

There is no more “decision” for the #Jets to make.
New GM. New staff. New QB.
No question.
Have a new regime built around some promising young players in attack (Hall/Allen, GW, AVT, Tippmann, Simpson).
It shouldn’t be a complete rebuild if they find the right QB/coach.…

There was some hope for the Jets when they picked up star receiver Davante Adams and a little more confidence after last week’s win against Houston. New York proved on Sunday that it’s far from a playoff contender, and it doesn’t seem like there’s much else the Jets can do to improve in time to make a postseason push at this point.
