Actor known for role ‘One Tree Hill’ dies of cancer at the age of 35

Actor Paul Teal, best known for his work on the drama series ‘One Tree Hill’, has died at the age of 35.

Teal died Friday in Raleigh, NC after a battle with cancer. Teal’s partner, Emilia Torello, shared with TMZ that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in April.

Torello shared an emotional Instagram post dedicated to Teal.

“Paul, you were my soulmate, my husband-to-be, my rock and my future. You filled my lungs with laughter, my stomach with butterflies and my heart with love. You were taken too soon, in a battle that you fought courageously without fail,” the message said. “Even though a part of me died with you, I promise that I will fight to find joy in life just as hard as you fought to live every day. The world is lucky to have even had a moment with Paul Teal, and I’m the luckiest person in that because I get to call you mine. I will love you forever.”

Teal made his acting debut in ‘One Tree Hill’ in 2010, playing the role of Josh for seven episodes. Teal went on to star in films like ‘Deep Water’, ‘Fear Street: Part Two – 1978’ and TV shows like ‘Good Behavior’, ‘Outer Banks’, ‘American Rust’ and more. Teal will appear in an upcoming short film called “1st Memory” and a series called “The Hunting Wives.”

He was also known for his theater roles in productions such as ‘Newsies’, ‘Sweeney Todd’ and ‘Rent’ in theaters across the country.

Fellow “One Tree Hill” actor Bethany Joy Lenz also shared a tribute on Instagram following Teal’s death.

“Paul, your time here was like a summer romance for all of us who knew you, especially if only for a season,” the message said. “Blasting, exciting, deeply moving and unforgettable.”
