Actress Jennifer Garner campaigns for Kamala Harris in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – Actress Jennifer Garner today joined Lancaster Mayor Danene Sorace and other local leaders to campaign for Kamala Harris in Lancaster County.

Lancaster County Commissioner Alice Yoder and State Rep. Izzy Smith-Wade-El (D-Lancaster County) joined Garner and Mayor Sorace for the “New Way Forward Press Conference.”

The actress highlighted Harris’ New Way Forward plans to “lower costs and strengthen Pennsylvania’s freedoms.”

“I think it’s great that (Kamala Harris) is going to help small businesses get started,” Garner said. “I think it’s great that she’s going to help young people or first-time homebuyers and that she’s going to build more homes and really tackle the housing crisis that we have in this country.”

This isn’t the star’s first time in Lancaster County.

“I love Lancaster. When I was 23, I was living in New York and going to play an Amish kid in a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie,” Garner said. “I was all method. I didn’t even have lines. And I found a 25 year old who helped me rent a car so I could drive there and spend a day. I ended up finding little places to stay because I loved it so much.”

Garner has starred in numerous films, including the newest and most successful R-rated film of all time, Deadpool and Wolverine. She also won a Golden Globe for the TV series ‘Alias’ and was nominated for four Prime Time Emmys for the series.

With Election Day approaching and the candidates neck and neck, both campaigns have been making frequent appearances in Pennsylvania as this is a crucial factor in the outcome of the election.

The Harris-Walz campaign says it is only the second Democratic presidential campaign in recent history to open an office in Lancaster County.

The last day to register to vote is October 21, the last day to request a mail-in or absentee ballot is October 29, and ballots must be returned to by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 5. the election council of your province.
