  • When: Adam Sandler: I Love You is now available on Netflix.

  • What you need to know: The beloved comedian returns to stand-up for the first time since 2018 with a filthy yet endearing special featuring multiple musical interludes.

  • The special is directed by Josh Safdie, who is responsible for Sandler’s chaotic and critically acclaimed portrayal of Uncut gemstones.

  • Sandler told E! News that he didn’t recommend his teenage daughters watch the film, even though his wife Jackie appears briefly in it.

  • Why I’m going to watch: As much as I love watching Sandman transform into a dramatic actor, you can see him having fun when he’s at his craziest. Me too!


📺 Only murders in the building is a star-studded affair

  • When: The first episode of Only murders in the building Season 4 is now streaming on Hulu.

  • What you need to know: This season, the podcasters tackle the antics of the entertainment industry while adapting their story into a movie.

  • There’s still a murder to solve.

  • Meryl Streep’s arrival in the final season may have been hard to top, but there are a slew of new cast members, including Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy and Zach Galifianakis.

  • Why I’m going to watch: Yodel writer Lily Herman said one of her favorite things about the show is that every season she says, “They’ll never top this,” but somehow they always manage to.


🎥 Gary Coleman documentary shows the toll of stardom

  • When: Gerrit begins streaming on Peacock on August 29.

  • What you need to know: The documentary explores the life of Gary Coleman, from his tumultuous career as a child star to his health problems and legal troubles with his parents.

  • The trailer mentions that the Different strokes The star’s life was “full of disappointments” leading to his “suspicious” death in 2010 at just 42 years old.

  • His friends and family, including his ex-wife, tell their side of the story in the 90-minute film.

  • Why I’m going to watch: By Quiet on the set According to the Brat Pack documentary, the theme of 2024 seems to be the Hollywood machine taking another look at the impact its youngest actors have.

▶️ After Baywatch casts a shadow on the sunniest TV show

  • When: The four-part docuseries After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun is now streaming on Hulu.

  • What you need to know: Bay watch was more than just the most watched TV show in the world, with 1.1 billion views per week in 1996. The action film series about lifeguards was a cultural phenomenon.

  • Jason Momoa, Carmen Electra and Pamela Anderson are just some of the Bay watch actors who became household names in the period from 1989 to 2001.

  • The show’s stars are now speaking out about how it has both “empowered” and “hurt” them.

  • Why I’m going to watch: At the end of the trailer, Anderson says, “I’m really proud of everything I’ve done… almost.” Relatable queen!


▶️ The Rings of Power is a feast for the eyes

  • When: The first three episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 will be available to stream on Prime Video from August 29.

  • What you need to know: The series is set thousands of years before the events of the Hobbit And Lord of the Rings novels, follows elves, wizards, dwarves, orcs, and other fantastic creatures in Middle-earth.

  • It is perhaps one of the most expensive TV series of all time, with a lot of investment in dozens of actors, elaborate costumes and lots of action.

  • Why I’m going to watch: Fan favorite character Tom Bombadil, who did not appear in Peter Jackson’s LOTR trilogy, makes its debut this season.
