After Biden calls Trump supporters ‘trash’, top surrogate suggests women around Trump are weak

Two days after President Biden called former President Donald Trump’s supporters “trash,” a top campaign surrogate for Vice President Kamala Harris suggested that women around the Republican presidential nominee were weak and stupid — though he later retracted his statement after it sparked widespread anger led.

“Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever,” billionaire Mark Cuban said Thursday on ABC’s “The View.”

“It’s just that simple. They are intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them. Nikki Haley will call him out on his nonsense about reproductive rights and how he sees, treats and talks to women. I mean, he just can’t have her with him. It wouldn’t work.”

Asked about the comments in the wake of the resulting firestorm, Cuban clarified to The Post: “I’m not saying strong, intelligent women don’t vote for (him). Everyone forms their own opinion. As it should be,” he said.

He followed with a hair-splitting backpedal.

“What I said was that you don’t see him with strong, intelligent women (like Nikki Haley). Ever. That’s not to say he hasn’t worked with anyone (Kellyanne (Conway), Ivanka (Trump), Linda McMahon, etc.). But I didn’t see him highlight their efforts during the campaign or appear with them,” he explained.

Following his eyebrow-raising comment, co-host Joy Behar mused that porn star Stormy Daniels “is intelligent” and her colleague Whoopi Goldberg clarified “he means on stage.”

The “Shark Tank” co-host’s insult sparked a fierce response from Trump’s campaign and his female allies.

“Joe Biden called Trump supporters trash, and now Kamala’s top surrogate Mark Cuban insinuated that female Trump supporters are ‘weak and stupid,'” said Karoline Leavitt, national press secretary for the Trump-Vance campaign.

“This is deeply insulting to the thousands of women who work for President Trump, and the tens of millions of women who voted for him. These women are mothers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders and they are indeed strong AND intelligent, despite what Mark Cuban and Kamala Harris say.”

When asked if he would have chosen his words differently in retrospect, Cuban rephrased his initial statement and provided a helpful list of the conservative women he considers intelligent.

“I would probably add that the only point I’m making is that I didn’t see him on the campaign trail side by side with women I consider strong and intelligent. Such as Nikki Haley, Kellyanne and Tulsi (Gabbard).
