NOAA published their US Winter Outlook on October 17, prepared by the Climate Prediction Center. A developing La Nina pattern is expected to sweep across the country this coming winter. These forecasts apply to the period December 2024 to February 2025.

In general, drier and warmer than normal weather is expected in the southeastern US. This is not great news as we continue to see worsening drought conditions across the state.
