UPDATE @ 2:15 PM – Police officials have given the “all clear” at this time. Police say the “suspicious appliances” were cooking utensils that had been left in someone’s backyard for the past week, and that the “explosion sound” was a transformer exploding nearby.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Authorities with the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) say officers are on scene in southwest Oklahoma City after reports of a suspicious package at Fairview Elementary.

Authorities said the students were evacuated to a nearby school for safety reasons.

The OKCPD bomb squad is also on scene after reports that some people heard what sounded like an explosion.

According to the police, there are no indications of an explosion. KFOR has a ground team and McInytre Law Chopper 4 goes to the scene.

The scene is currently being actively investigated.
