ANCHOR payments from New Jersey are hitting bank accounts this month

Homeowners and renters in New Jersey could see ANCHOR benefits hit their bank accounts sooner than expected, according to the state treasurer. Payments were originally expected in November, but the state now says some applicants could receive money in mid-October.

According to a social media post from the New Jersey State Department of the Treasury, the payments will be distributed on a rolling basis, with most applicants receiving the funds approximately 90 days after application, “unless additional information is needed to process the application.”

Those who automatically filed for benefits will receive their payments first, according to the agency.

Last year’s payments ranged from $450 for renters to $1,500 for homeowners. More information about ANCHOR payments can be found on the state’s website. If you received an ANCHOR benefit confirmation letter in the mail, the application has already been submitted automatically based on last year’s information. The deadline to apply for the ANCHOR benefit for those who did not automatically apply is November 30.
Applicants can also check the status of their benefits by clicking here to visit the Department of Revenue website.
