Anna Kendrick tells Stephen Colbert all about her post-dinner experience chocolate bars with mushrooms at a Halloween party. The actor, who recently made her directorial debut with “Woman of the Hour,” appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” In addition to discussing the new film, Kendrick also opened up about the time she tried mushrooms.

During her appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Anna Kendrick recalled her magic mushroom experience. The 39-year-old said she went to a party with her “Pitch Perfect” co-star Brittany Snow last year. Kendrick revealed that someone at the party asked if she wanted to try “microdosing mushrooms.”

Kendrick continued, “I was like, ‘Yeah, you know, I’m fun.'” She then joked, “That’s how you know you’re fun when you have to say it out loud.” The actor explained to Colbert that they were “like chocolate bars and everyone takes a square.” Afterwards, Kendrick said she wanted to be safe and decided to chop the “microdose” and only take half of it.

She continued to remember the experience and share what she “learned” that evening. “Chocolate is not a good delivery system for mushrooms because sometimes it doesn’t mix well,” says Kendrick. The actor added, “Sometimes there can be a little bite that doesn’t have a microdose, but a real macrodose.” Anna Kendrick told Stephen Colbert that she “got so high” after trying magic mushrooms for the first time.

Kendrick recalled that she started saying, “Oh no, oh I’m so high, oh God, I’m so high,” adding that she couldn’t stop saying it. Then she remembered Snow’s reaction, saying, “Oh, my God. One of my best friends is just tripping at a party.” Kendrick said Snow felt like she had “left her alone on this journey.” Kendrick continued, “Brittany, like a hero, grabbed another bunch of mushrooms,” in an effort to meet the standard.

Afterwards, Kendrick said she and Snow were “grinning like the Joker while tears flowed.” However, the actor noted that they “felt great” and continued to compliment each other.
