Will Jared Padalecki become a regular? Fire country?

In the promo for Fire country In Season 3, Episode 5, titled “Edgewater’s About to Get Real Cozy,” we got a look at the conflict that new character Captain Camden Casey, played by Jared Padalecki, will present as Bode’s Phase 3 instructor.

The episode synopsis explains: “Station 42 and Three Rock spring into action when a plane crash-lands outside Edgewater. Jared Padalecki guest stars as Camden, a SoCal firefighter who immediately recognizes Bode’s raw talent.

In the promo, Camden says, “I’m your new boss. Show me your fire in the field.” When Jake becomes concerned about his methods and tells Camden, “Bode doesn’t have permission to do that, it’s way too dangerous,” Camden explains, “it’s my job to turn him into a firefighter – my way .”

Will we see more of Padalecki’s character? So far, Camden only has a three-episode arc planned for Season 3, but he may still have a life beyond that Fire country. Rumor has it that the character will lead his own spin-off, although there aren’t many details yet.

In September, Deadline reported: “Padaecki could star in a spinoff series, which is in very early stages, with no writer attached. Colloquially referred to as Tierra del Fuego: Surfsidethe project could be for CBS, home of Fire country and upcoming spin-off Sherif countryor Paramount+.”

It will be interesting to see Camden’s storyline play out in season 3. Executive producer Tia Napolitano teased what to expect, telling TV Insider: “Camden will approach a few people the wrong way and not always, but he has very unconventional tactics when it comes to firefighting, when it comes to Bode, when it’s about which rules need to be broken.”

Napolitano added: “And I think it will be fun. He’s not a bad guy by any means, but it will be nice to see our people have this new true alpha male in their midst.

The characters may clash on screen, but Padalecki and Thieriot are close in real life, allowing for an easy chemistry between them. “You could feel it on set, you could feel it as soon as the director calls for action, they just shine on the screen,” Napolitano said.

The EP noted of the new character: “He’s really adventurous. He’s an envelope pusher, and he and Bode will both be the first to jump into the fire when they shouldn’t. And it’s almost a race where one of them is more heroic and willing to go rogue and willing to do anything to get the save. In that respect they are just brothers.”

Thieriot teased how Camden will impact his character, telling TV Insider: “Bode does his best to walk this line and be a by-the-book firefighter, and Camden is definitely not that guy. I think Camden does things in a different way, which creates a little conflict between him and Jake and him and Vince and Sharon. They see Bode doing so well, but now there is an instructor who, in a way, pushes Bode to be Bode.”

He continues, “But I think that’s because Camden sees a bit of themselves in Bode and they have a lot of similarities in the way they act based on their instincts and gut feelings and make decisions based on what’s happening at the time, instead of following events. checklist. That’s scary for everyone in Bode’s life to see, because of the decisions Bode has made in the past. The two will obviously work well together, but at the same time I think their similarities and tendencies will also create conflict between the two of them and it will be a lot of fun for everyone to watch.”

“Camden can take a lot from Bode personally and Bode can take things from Camden professionally and personally,” Thieriot added. “So they definitely leave an impact on each other.”
