Apple Inc. introduced the latest version of its flagship iPhone 16, betting the device can entice consumers with modest hardware upgrades and AI technology still in the pipeline.

General manager Tim Kok unveiled the smartphone — along with new watches and AirPods earbuds — at an event Monday steeped in the promise of artificial intelligence. The iPhone 16 is built “from the ground up” for AI, he said, though the capabilities will only be added to the device gradually through software updates.
